CHRISTINE BERG
Christine is the owner of Shine, and a voice and accent coach. Her past clients have included Genie nominated and Sundance film festival award winning actors. They have been seen and heard in numerous projects, including: Canada’s Next Top Model, Disney, CBC radio, Soulpepper, Mirvish, The Stratford and Shaw Festivals, the Young Peoples Theatre, and The Vancouver Playhouse.
In England, Christine has taught at the Oxford School of Drama, and East 15 Acting School (University of Essex). She continues to train young actors in the Humber College Theatre Performance Program. Christine holds an MA in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and is one of the only Linklater Designated coaches in Canada.
LOPA SIRCAR
Lopa coaches voice and accents at Shine in addition to her work as an actor. She has coached dialects coach on projects such as Call of Duty: Operation King Fish. She has walked the boards on many of Canada’s stages, most recently in The Penelopiad for the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver, BC. Her next coaching project is Heather Hermants’ Ribcage: This Wide Passage, in French!
Lopa holds an MFA in Acting and and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching Voice from York University where she continues to teach and coach.
LAURANN J BROWN
Laurann designs dialect worlds for plays and films, coaches actors through SHINE, and helps corporate clients soften their native accents. This is her fifth season as an Associate Dialect Coach at The Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake. In London, England, Laurann was Senior Lecturer at The Urdang Academy, Voice Lecturer at East 15 Acting School (University of Essex), and voice/communications coach at Speak Easily.
In the UK, Laurann’s clients are appearing in the West End and on national tour in such shows as Jesus Christ Superstar, Ghost, Les Miserables, Thriller Live and Top Hat. In Canada, Laurann’s clients can be found across a range of industries – including film, television, stage and education Laurann holds a BA in Theatre Studies from the University of British Columbia, an MA in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and a Diploma in Massage Therapy from Mount Royal College.
LAURA NORDIN
Laura has been coaching at SHINE since 2008. Her private clients have booked film, television and voice over roles all over the country.
In addition to working on a number of critically acclaimed independent projects in Vancouver, Boston, New York, and Toronto, her acting experience includes working with Genie and Gemini Award-Winning director Bruce McDonald and Academy Award-Nominated director Hubert Davis. In addition to her work with SHINE, Laura teaches at Armstrong Acting Studios, and the Young People’s Theatre. She has an MFA in acting from the prestigious American Repertory Theatre at Harvard University and the Moscow Art Theatre School. In 2010 she founded Filmcoop; a not-for-profit mentorship program for professional filmmakers in Toronto.
